DB2/LUW

tcACCESS provides different methods to exchange mainframe data directly with an DB2/LUW database:
direct data transfer of mainframe data into an DB2/LUW  database
SQL-access to all supported mainframe data sources and direct insert of the result set into an DB2/LUW database
direct access to DB2/LUW databases using SQL-commands from mainframe applications. The access to DB2/LUW can be performed from online applications (i.e. CICS, IMS/DC etc.) as well as from Batch-programs (Open System Transparency)

 

This feature greatly simplifies the bi-directional data-exchange in heterogeneous system environments.

Example: Use tcACCESS to process data of an SQL-Server- or DB2/LUW-database by a mainframe program or even process a view that combines mainframe data (i.e. DB2, VSAM, IMS/DB, ADABAS, etc.) by standard SQL-commands (JOINS).

The processing can be bi-directional. Transaction processing is supported.

The Open System Transparency component can be used to join mainframe data and DB2/LUW-data.
