tcEXPRESS / ODBC – High Performance ODBC driver
for IBM DB2 and Informix
tcEXPRESS - DB2/Informix ODBC driver
tcEXPRESS/ODBC is an ODBC driver (DB2/Informix ODBC driver). With tcEXPRESS/ODBC the developer and user can directly access DB2 or Informix databases. Access can be performed from any ODBC capable MS-Windows- or UNIX application.
This allows fast and simple access to DB2 or Informix information from applications like Microsoft EXCEL, Microsoft ACCESS, Visual Basic, Visual C and all other ODBC compliant applications. For the DB2/Informix access from a MS-Windows or UNIX Client the DRDA protocol is used.

Due to the capability to directly access any mainframe based DB2 table it is no longer necessary to transfer the data to a workstation. The benefit for the end user is obvious: the data he'll be working with is realtime data.

The tcEXPRESS ODBC driver can be easily installed and only requires a TCP/IP connection to the mainframe. No additional mainframe software components and proprietary gateways are necessary.
Compared to other solutions, tcEXPRESS/ODBC uses far less resources on the client. Little - if any - configuration- and distribution effort is required.
